On Tuesday, November 11, from 4:00–6:00 PM, we are hosting a Capoeira workshop led by Mestre Onirê (Angoleiros do Sertão) and Professor Saci (Grupo Resistência), in a joint initiative of the Carter G. Woodson Institute and the Contemplative Commons. The session will take place at the Contemplative Commons, Studio 1B. This is a great opportunity for those interested in performance and embodiment in the Afro-Latin American Diaspora.

This is a practical, hands-on workshop. Please come in comfortable clothing and sneakers. The session is open to everyone: students, faculty, staff, and the general public. No prior experience is required.
